Eddie B, it is on the official site now with a picture of Andy with the award. I think that means it will be goal of the season and if not I can't wait to see the goal that pips it. Well done AC and let's hope you are o.k. for tomorrow big man.

The club are certainly milking it for all it's worth. They've replaced the Payet picture at the stadium with it, and were playing it constantly on the big screens outside, and inside the ground.
Wouldn't surprise me if they start selling framed pictures of it etc.

It's right up there, for sure.
Di Canio's will probably always be the best, though. In fact I think it's the best ever Premier League goal. I always get annoyed when Rooney's shinner is ranked above it.

Why the f*** can't sky just do a report on Carroll winning GOTM. Instead, they do a whole piece about whether Carrolls was better than Girouds, giving people a chance to vote again!!!

Giroud's is just an instinctive flick of his boot in the hope it goes somewhere near the goal.
Just don't see it as that good and it wouldn't even make my top 10 goals seen this season.
Carroll's shits all over it and yes I am biased!

My opinion, and this is totally unbiased I promise, is that Carroll's was better as he actually meant to do it and executed it perfectly. Giroud's always had an element of luck involved and I don't deny it was a fantastic goal but as luck was involved rather than just pure skill Carroll's was better. I may not have explained that as well as I meant but you get the gist. I remember a lot of great goals over the years and was always taken with one's of pure skill, Di Canio, Hoddle v Watford, Cantona's chip and Maradona v us in 1986. I was seething at the cheating c**t but when he did that you had to take your hat off and applaud. Messi has his own portfolio (I dismiss Ronaldo for being up his own ar$e). Team goals are always great to watch too but rarely win awards.
